In One Accord: 50 Days to Pentecost

Daily Devotional

Day 11 of 50 – From Doubt to Belief

Scripture (NKJV)
John 20:27
“Then He said to Thomas, ‘Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.’”

Devotional Thought
Thomas is often remembered for his doubt—but what’s more powerful is how Jesus responded to him. He didn’t rebuke him harshly or push him away. Instead, Jesus met Thomas right in the middle of his uncertainty and invited him closer.

This is the heart of Jesus toward you. When questions arise, when faith feels shaky, when circumstances don’t make sense—He doesn’t withdraw. He draws near.

Doubt doesn’t disqualify you; distance does. And even then, Jesus bridges the gap.

Thomas moved from doubt to one of the strongest declarations of faith: “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28). His encounter with Jesus transformed his uncertainty into conviction.

In the same way, your doubts can become a doorway—not a dead end. When you bring them honestly before God, He uses them to deepen your faith, strengthen your trust, and draw you into a more real and personal relationship with Him.

Jesus is not intimidated by your questions. He welcomes them—because He knows that on the other side of honest seeking is unwavering belief.

Journal Prompt
What doubts, fears, or unanswered questions do you need to honestly bring before God today?
What would it look like for you to invite Jesus into those places instead of hiding them?

Prayer
Lord, I bring You my doubts, my questions, and the places where my faith feels weak. Thank You for not turning away from me, but instead inviting me closer. Meet me in my uncertainty and reveal Yourself in a deeper way. Transform my doubt into unshakable faith. Help me to trust You even when I don’t fully understand. I choose to believe again. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
