Week 1 – Surrender

Thursday, Day 2 – Laying the Vision at God’s Feet

Scripture: Proverbs 16:3; Psalm 37:5

Today’s devotional focuses on trusting God with the vision He has placed in our hearts. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” The fast we are undertaking is not merely about sacrifice—it is about submission. It is about intentionally placing our dreams, desires, and plans at God’s feet, recognizing that He is the ultimate architect of what will come to pass.

As we pray for our ministry property, we are reminded that buildings, while important, are not the core of God’s Kingdom work. What truly matters is the people He is preparing, the vision He is confirming, and the spiritual purpose He is calling us to fulfill. Today, take intentional time to lay the vision in God’s hands—offer Him the entire process: discovery, negotiation, and eventual stewardship.

Laying our plans before God requires humility. It means admitting we do not have full control over timing, resources, or outcomes. It also requires faith—faith that God is already working behind the scenes even when we cannot see the full picture. This act of surrender is a spiritual discipline, shaping our hearts to become aligned with God’s will rather than being dictated by our own agendas or fears.

During the fast, hunger or moments of discomfort can serve as reminders to lift your vision higher. Whenever you feel the urge to worry or take matters into your own hands, pause and commit your plans to God again. Pray not only for provision but for discernment, peace, and clarity in each decision. Let each step of the journey reflect obedience rather than impatience, and let each prayer be an act of trust, not desperation.

Reflection/Application:

  • Write down your vision for the ministry property and physically lay it before God in prayer.
  • Consider the ways God may want to grow or refine the vision before it is realized.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit to show you if there are areas where you are trying to control the outcome rather than trust God.

Prayer:
Lord, we lay our vision at Your feet. Take our plans, refine them, and align them with Your perfect will. Teach us to trust You with timing, resources, and outcomes. May our hearts remain humble, obedient, and fully surrendered as we follow Your guidance. Amen.
