In One Accord: 50 Days to Pentecost
SUNDAY Sermon Title: Living in the Power of “It Is Finished”
Series: In One Accord – 50 Days to Pentecost
Scripture Anchor: 1 Corinthians 15:55; Matthew 28:6; Romans 8:11; John 11:44; John 19:30
Church, we are not just counting down days—we are positioning our hearts. Today marks the first day of 50 daily devotionals leading up to the celebration of the birth of the church, and unleashing the Power of the Holy Spirit living in each of us!.
Pentecost was not random. It came after preparation. It came after unity. It came after revelation. And in these days leading up to it, God is doing something deeper than information—He is forming expectations.
This week’s devotional journey reminds us of five foundational truths:
Today, the Spirit is inviting us to move from awareness into alignment.
Not just to hear truth—but to live in it.
(1 Corinthians 15:55)
“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”
The resurrection didn’t just prove Jesus is alive—it proved fear is defeated.
Fear thrives on uncertainty. It feeds on what we cannot control. It amplifies the unknown. But the cross and the empty tomb permanently shifted the authority structure of our lives.
Fear may still speak—but it no longer rules.
You are not called to negotiate with fear—you are called to confront it with truth.
Because of Jesus:
You are living from victory, not toward it.
When fear rises, you don’t retreat—you remind it of the resurrection.
Spiritual posture: Boldness replaces bondage when truth takes root.
(Matthew 28:6)
“He is not here; for He is risen, as He said.”
Three words: “as He said.”
The resurrection didn’t happen because circumstances aligned—it happened because God had already spoken.
This is where faith is anchored—not in what we feel, but in what He said.
When life looks delayed, when prayers seem unanswered, when hope feels distant—your anchor is still the Word of God.
God is not reacting to your situation—He is fulfilling His Word.
The empty tomb is heaven’s receipt that God always keeps His promises.
So when doubt whispers:
You respond:
“As He said.”
That’s where faith stands—on the unchanging Word of God.
Spiritual posture: Faith grows when the Word becomes your final authority.
(Romans 8:11; John 11:44)
Romans declares that the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.
Let that settle:
You are not trying to access power—you are carrying it.
But power is not just for moments of crisis—it’s for a lifestyle of transformation.
Then we see Lazarus:
He came out alive… but still bound.
Jesus called him out of death, but then gave a command:
“Loose him, and let him go.”
This reveals something powerful:
You can be delivered, yet still need to walk in freedom.
Many believers are alive in Christ—but still wrapped in:
But Jesus is still speaking today:
“Loose them… let them go.”
Resurrection is not just about coming out—it’s about stepping into fullness.
God didn’t raise you to leave you bound.
He raised you to live free.
Spiritual posture: Freedom is not just received—it is walked out.
(John 19:30)
“It is finished!”
Not partially. Not eventually. Finished.
This is the defining declaration of our faith.
Because it is finished:
Too many believers are living in tension that Jesus already resolved.
The cross was enough.
The resurrection was proof.
And Pentecost is the empowerment to live it out.
So in this season, God is calling His people to:
Today, the invitation is simple:
Will you stop living beneath what Christ has already secured?
This is your moment to realign.
The same Spirit that raised Christ is here.
The same power is available.
The same victory is already won.
Say it in faith:
Final Exhortation:
Church, don’t just prepare for Pentecost—prepare your heart to receive what God is ready to release.
Because when a people come into one accord…
Fear breaks… faith rises… power is released…
And the Spirit moves in fullness.
Amen.
Have a blessed and spirit filled week.
